I was given the original illustrator files with character designs from Michael Bruza, an extremely talented kid's design specialist whom I worked closely with at Netflix. My tasks started with narrowing down the bucket of characters by picking the most successful, and doing color palette explorations to pick the right combination of colors. Determining the right palette was very important, as they had to align well with Netflix's brand. After my palette recommendation was signed off, my final task was to do all of the production design, export them, and test them on multiple devices for color vibrancy and display quality. The resulting avatars are still being utilized on all of Netflix's numerous platforms. A fun and rewarding project- these avatars brought a dash of personality and playfulness to the otherwise serious Netflix brand.
